Asphalt Resurfacing, Patching & Flex

Asphalt Resurfacing and Patching Contractor in Atlanta, Georgia

As durable as asphalt is, over time, any asphalt pavement will sustain damage due to normal wear and tear. Weather cycles, oxidation, as well as heavy use by vehicles, can lead to aging, rutting, cracking and potholes.

Asphalt Resurfacing

Resurfacing can extend the life of an asphalt road or parking lot for more than a decade. If your pavement’s foundation (base) is strong and only the top layer is damaged, then asphalt resurfacing is feasible. Resurfacing involves placing a new layer of asphalt over an existing road (overlaying) or removing and replacing the top layer of asphalt. When removing and replacing, the first step in the process is milling, where the top layer of the old asphalt is removed. Once the top layer is removed, our team will inspect the pavement and make any needed repairs. When the surface is ready, the new layer of asphalt is placed. The asphalt resurfacing process is environmentally friendly – 100% of asphalt removed is recyclable at any of our four asphalt production plants.

Asphalt Patching & Repair

Patching may be an option when you have isolated areas in need of repair. Patching will improve the overall structural integrity of the pavement and will help prevent deterioration from spreading. Repairing these isolated areas will reduce safety hazards, improve appearance and extend the lifespan of your road or parking lot.

Asphalt Crack Relief Interlayer (“Flex”)

A material that is used as a crack relief interlayer to reduce reflective cracking in pavement surfaces is commonly known as flex or open graded interlayer (OGI). Flex asphalt is a course, intermediate layer of asphalt that is placed prior to the surface asphalt to mitigate cracks from reappearing in the surface layer and can be used in conjunction with or in place of patching when deemed appropriate.
